From a Passion to a Movement: The SBL Story
Solutions by Lynn began with a simple, powerful vision: to ensure that a lack of resources never stands in the way of a child’s success. Recognizing the daily struggles faced by low-income families in our community, the founder, Dr. Cathy Sauls, launched SBL in 2020 to provide immediate, tangible support.
What started as a grassroots effort providing school supplies has grown into a vital organization offering year-round services. Today, we partner with schools, hospitals, and community leaders to deliver comprehensive support, from basic necessities to family health resources, impacting hundreds of lives annually.

Solutions by Lynn was founded on the belief that socioeconomic status should never dictate a child’s educational or health outcomes. We work hand-in-hand with Title 1 schools in Raleigh and Wake County community partners to bridge resource gaps, ensuring every student has the foundational tools they need to succeed.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are honored to share our 2025 Impact Report. This document reflects our journey of “bridging gaps for children” and our commitment to maintaining low administrative overhead so that every act of care reaches the families who need it most.
Bridging Gaps for Children with Dignity
Founded by Dr. Cathy Sauls, Solutions by Lynn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no child falls through the cracks during times of hardship. We serve families at critical moments—such as foster care placement or medical crisis—with a promise to provide consistent, reliable support without judgment or barriers.
Turning Compassion into Action
Since our launch, we have achieved significant milestones in Wake County:
- 300+ Children Supported: Provided direct assistance from infancy through adolescence.
- 90+ Caregivers Empowered: Delivered essential resources, education, and care to mothers and caregivers.
- 20+ Families Stabilized: Assisted families navigating their most critical moments of need.
- Student Aid: Paid for school lunches for over 25 elementary students.

We take pride in our disciplined financial stewardship, ensuring that the majority of our resources go directly to children and families.
- Low Overhead: We maintain low administrative costs through volunteer leadership and strategic in-kind support.
- Proven Growth: In 2025 alone, we increased our general operating balance by over $13,700 through responsible budgeting and donor trust.
Programs for Every Stage of Childhood
Our C2C initiatives provide targeted support for specific needs:
Baby’s Chest Head 2 Toe: Essential items for newborns and infants.
Community Reach: School readiness through shoes, clothing, and supplies.
Kidney Care for Children: Comfort items for children receiving dialysis or medical treatment.
We Care Essentials: Hygiene and toiletry kits to support children’s health and dignity.
A Shared Purpose Across Wake Count
We believe sustainable impact is built on strong relationships. Our 2021–2025 partners include over 15 local schools and organizations, such as:
- Healthcare: UNC Hospitals and Wake County Public Health.
- Community: Make-A-Wish, Safe Child, and Wake County Foster Care.
- Education: Multiple elementary schools, including Hodge Road, Lincoln Heights, and Brentwood.

WHERE WE'VE BEEN
2025 has been a very good year for the children in Wake County NC. These are only some examples of the good work Solutions by Lynn has done.
Play sets to children on dialysis at UNC Hospitals
In September 2025, we distributed 30 play sets to children receiving dialysis treatment at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. These play sets help children cope with the long, scary treatments they undergo, which can cause anxiety. The play sets give them a sense of control and help them process their experiences and anxiety.
Wake County elementary students receive new shoes.
In March and October 2025, we met the needs of 50 students at Brentwood and Fuquay Elementary Schools in Wake County by providing them with much-needed new athletic shoes. We selected these schools because they are Title I schools, and many of their students come from low-income families. Additionally, we provided new clothing to 16 children in Wake County Foster Care and the community.
We believe that providing children with adequate shoes is crucial for their safe play, healthy foot development, and overall self-esteem. Proper clothing is necessary for children to align with social norms. Dressing like their peers fosters a sense of belonging, which reduces bullying and encourages friendships.
